Hi!
I'm working on a upgraded S2 with a 3b engine, it has a new oil pump, new valvepushers / tappets (correct word?) and Quakerstate Mineral oil 20w50 , the engine has run about 2000km since a rebuild, and it sounds like a John Deere after about 30-40 seconds after start, I've first stated that the oil is rubbish and needs changing, but now I'm getting more concerned about this, if the oil doesn't solve this problem, and I guess the tappets / pushers too could be faulty even though they are new, is there anything else that can cause this problem / noice, the oil pressure is good, the engine does have oil leaks , but it comes from the valve breathing system, and I think I've managed to sort that out, (did an engine wash to try and localize the leak more, but this was at least one leak)
This car has some real made in garage solutions (not done by me ofc) and its difficult to sort everthing out , seeing that the guy who owns this car is going to sell it, and is not willing to fork out any more dough on it than necessary.. What do you guys think, what else can cause tappets / pushers to sound like it's hammer time. I'm thinking about going with Castrol 10w60 or Redline 15w50 oil with ester base.

, it's new tappets from ABR (Mekonomen) , I don't like them.. OEM is better
