Changing my rods, what else do I need? I made a list!

So I'm looking to change my rods and I'm planning to take of the head and sump. So far this is what I think I need, but suggestions, corrections are very welcome.

Links to image of the ETKA maingroups where I took the parts from.

Also in Denmark we have something called oil thieves they are located in the cylinder head. Where can I find these in ETKA, since I think I might as well change them when everything is apart.

go for ARP, they are not that expensive and you wont have to change them ever

I still don't see the need of going for ARP if your not planning on taking the head off every year

they are capable to handle more strenght? and if you upgrade rods, you may want more and more later, then why not put ARP´s right away? only a bonus that you can use them forever..

IMHO it is just the same thing to buy H-beam conrods and then put in OEM bolts

but that is just my opinion

Do you need to changes the head gasket ?
If it is a metal gasket we reuse them.

Aelred might have some, ARP's are a no brainer to install especially if you modify the bhp output.

ARP cost the price of 2 sets of normal stretch bolts so if the heads has to come of once at any point in time it's paid for itself.

                            try summit racing for arp.

get a full head gasket kit from pete at Qc. all the seals for water rail etc are it there.

the block will need to come out to remove the crank.

you need to hone the block if fitting new rings.

expect cuts with the piston locks if you are new to this.

change the water pump and oil pump if you are going to this level.

whilst the head is off send it for a clean up and new seals/guides. worth the extra hundred quid or so.

Get gasket sets from a Victor Reinz stockist.
02-29335-01 for the head, which includes manifold gaskets and stem seals.
                              08-29178-01 for the block.
Mahle piston rings should be much cheaper than Audi ones too.
Don't forget a second sump gasket for the windage tray.

Oil pump and main shells can be checked and should still be ok, but I can tell you're keen to change everything.
