After a lengthy discussion with Mark H and MartinJS about the after run pump never coming on I did some investigating of lower rated switches that could be used.
I found one from a mid-nineties LT van that has a temp rating of 90/75º (The standard switch has a rating of 110/97º)
I've got one of these fitted on mine now and it works a treat. The pump doesn't run if it's only a short journey but does switch on when the engine has been run at operating temp.
It's not a straight swap as you have to change the connector to fit the new switch. This isn't a problem though and the new connector is a lot better protected from water ingress etc.
Part numbers are as follows:
Switch-----281 919 521 B--£18.80
Connector--357 972 752----£ 4.03
Contacts---000 979 133----£ 0.99
Grommets---357 972 741 A--£ 0.40ea (x2)
All the prices are retail and include VAT.
Hope this is useful especially for the big power guys on here.
