Question does it matter on the polarity of these switches as I've bought one with new connector but polarity is not indicated on it.

An alternative would be to use an after run switch from a 7A, its a little sensor mounted onto a bracket on the valve cover that monitors ambient temperature above the exhaust manifold.

On my car the after run fan kicks in every time i park the car, sometimes can come on two or three times if its really hot. Downside is it can set off the alarm due to voltage drop when the fan starts.

Part number is 034919369A, and according to ETKA its rated at 85c. I think its physically the same size as the S2 after run switch however i would still mount it externally on its bracket as per 7A setup.

I am almost certain these are a simple on/off switch so it dosent matter which way around you wire them.

AAN guys do that mod, not to my liking prefer it coming of coolant temp, if it's an on off switch it shouldn't matter cheers

polarity is not an issue as its a simple on /off thermoswitch that is not in contact with any earths

Found one rated 100/95°C with same shape M10x1 2pin:
                      FAE 3581, Volvo 3435172-6

I don't know if this part opens or closes at 100°

Closes at 100C. Im using this FAE 35810 sensor/switch. Works fine.

it seems that i have lost the part number for that thermal switch i have used and it is rather difficult to see the number on the switch from the engine.

does anyone know how i can look for it in etka? i have tried but no luck so far...

could it be that polarity thing?
have you tried put them cables in reverse?

There's not polarity it's an on - off switch that completes a circuit when I asked previously on the forum but I will try switching the wires around worth a go!
