Hi all.
as the title speaks.
I was told that DVs shouldn't not be put on the ABY.
Is this a myth?
I didn't quite catch the reason behind it, but its something like it can upset the engine...

I am sure an expert will be along in a minute, but until then: -
I believe that the main reason is that the Motronic uses a MAF to calculate air flow in the intake tract; therefore a Dump Valve cannot be used because it will create a rich mixture, damage the cat and may cause misfires. Plus the ECU will throw errors.
I also assume that if you went VEMS etc you could switch from Diverter to Dump but I have no idea why you would bother.

I have a Forge DV and it works fine. Doesn't throw any codes up and runs perfect even have a AFR graph to prove it. That just reminds me think it's time to take it out for a little service.
There was a batch where the rivet broke, but they were pulled back. If You buy one now, I'd say it will most likely be the last time You even think about the whole valve.
Unless You have pressure drop in the boost piping, and need to swap to stiffer spring. Nevertheless, I would never even consider any other make.
Everything less than 2 bar is considered to be naturally aspirated
OPen DV is toss on a stock car IME, made power delivery less smooth and caused rich running just after a gear change, you could hear the exhaust popping and backfiring from it, won't do the cats much good. Forge DV007 is a good option, 4 years' use for me with no issues. 006 is the same style but with a larger case. APR is a good option from what I've heard, it's more money but you get what you pay for. I also ran a GFB fully adjustable valve for a bit, serious piece of kit and could be adjusted to give a small vent to atmosphere and recirc most of the gases, helps a lot and sounds good. They were ÂŁ250 new but ebay turned up good for that.

I found that the BOVs i was using where completely fine on both my s2s and the rs2. Pick up was faster and harder over Stock N710, although the stock ones where prob due a change anyway.
I havent tried a lot of different makes but the Turbosmart ones i used where very good. I dont think there is much that can beat them.
I never had any problems with the moronic and vent to atmosphere valves. A lot of people seam to say they have but maybe thats down to other things or the valves they are using.
On mine it was the DV Bo, the pickup after a gearchange was sluggish and yerky and it would pop from burning unburnt fuel, swapped back to the forge, all A1 again. It was fine on full recirc but on full vent to atmosphere it was poor. Depends whether you're after noise or having the car run as best it can, it's like cone filters and aibox arguements, if you like the noise and sensation then who cares if it's not perfect...
