Haha, that sounds about right. I think ill have a great spool time with the 12cm exhaust housing on the hx35. What do you think about modding the stock manifold? Wont it burn valves to run to high of boost/power through it?

          Hahah.. Cool. Right

No no no , after modding ur Stock manifold and bolt on the Holset buddy you will not have problems with melting valves u need ur local tuner to take care of the sw for this setup. The whole package is needed if u wanna go all out though. Not only the turbo will help u having fun here. most importent thing fueling and ignition is needed correctly .

Boost i NOT always the main factor to have a well working machine.. rather a good mix of everything like a good blend in the bar ..

          Cheers.

What do you mean by SW?

Oh ya, im fully aware of that. Im putting in larger injectors, a new fuel pump (not decided which one yet), and VEMS. Im not exactly sure what i am going to do coil wise right now. My stock coils are working great, but i may end up switching to some LS2 coils.

            What do you think?

Oh. sorry , SW = Software ( Chip ) stock Motronic Ecu . But never mind , If u use the VEMS management u got everything in one box and ur Laptop. But I Sugest you have a experienced tuner to adjust this. can be some nasty consequences if not.

If u aiming at 400+ hp there will be more then enough with Bosch 550cc injectors , 044 pump ,H-Beam rods, stock coils aswell , push this kit to 1,6 kgs of boost and u might be close to ur target.

I used those , worked like a charm even on 2,5 kgs of boost ....

But as long as Stock is working , not neccesary do buy expensive coil packs.

034 ones are not VEMS friendly hit and miss with them plus the EFI kit has more spark output and cheaper

                      Chipsenter,
Thats exactly what I'm planning on doing except for the H-Beam rods right now. I'm gonna do around 350whp and i've been told the limit on stock rods is about 400whp (granted I know the limit is different on every engine). I'm not gonna run it terribly hard until I do rods, but for now I'll be fine with my stock rods.

Once I go over 350whp I'll put rods, rings, and bearings in it and hone the cylinders.

                        Great

U will get ur target pretty easy I can tell .

If u look into my dynosheet on my thread I have around 350 Whp right above 4000 rpms , guessing boost around 1.3-4 kgs .

The Audi engine produces HP like grass growing

My whole thoughts on the Holset (got a H1C for the vr6T quattro swap). Is that even if i end up not happy with the turbo setup I paid less than $200.00 for it. Even if I get a decent setup from it, stock bottom end, stock everything except head gasket which will be a compression dropping headgasket. If i blow it up with a bad map, maybe just an unfortunate event then I just won't care. I'd rather build something knowing it's running standalone, knowing it's probably going to fail and have the smile on my face to know it's not a big deal. I'd rather have something break ( I know it's going to break at some point) and not be bothered by it then have something expensive and have it break.
I chose not to choose life: I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who need reasons when you've got quattro?

                              Just to add to this?

If the car was a daily driver I'd do a built bottom end and use a nice precision or garrett turbo. It's not going to be a daily driver. It will never be a dailly driver and the triple A card will help when the car craps it's insides out and I need a tow home.

That's the way my mind works these days. I know it's going to break. I'm not bothered by the idea of it breaking.
