Turbo upgrade with stock parts?

Im gonna be changin rods, due to goin bigger setup, i dont see the problem runnin upto or tad over 400hp on standard rods.

the real problem could be the 640nm of torque you got in your back with the k26/27

lol thats not the problem, i might even port and polish the head to see if there is any more mn to gain

ok ...than don't change the rod... do remap on 400+hp... and live on edge...

somebody will be happy because they will sale you new engine block and pistons...

in Croatia we don't have much 2.2 20vt engines.
4 x 200 20v
8 x S4
2 X S2
2 X S6
1 X RS2

last year 3 engines blow away because we didn't change the rods... Aromatic is witness.

i cant say nothing about it too.... i have a 3B but all my ignition parts since the battery , sparks,spark wires,distributor rotor , are complete new ,hope that continue working perfectly for dont broke nothig

been trying to bend rods for long time now seen around 700nm but no bananas:mischeif:

the RSR from MTM has had other rods if i remeber correctly. Also i dont think that MRC are selling a 650nm chip for the RS2 turbo.... i am not sure that it is possible.

If you look at the compressor map you will see that you can get 2 bar with the RS2 turbo but it decends wo the red line. If you have more than 1.2 bar on the stock RS2 turbo you are overspinning it and thus reducing it's longevity.

That´s odd, they boost 1,4 completely standard... at least all of my mates that have/had standard RS2,s have done...

for me ... it's real miracle that somebody drive 400 hp on stock engine..

in these 3 cases in Croatia 2 was 3B and 1 AAN engine...

my was stock 220 hp and have banana rods other 2 was broken on bearings and kick the piece of engine block out... now i don't wont to drive on stock rod even stock engine...

the rods are not the same in (3b aby aan adu rr) but all can hold same power or hp... now I go to rebuilt one more 200 20v and have one 3b and one AAN engine at home, but I don't wont to put engine inside the car because sill I don't have H rods. this car will be stock, but must have H rods.

maybe the problem is with 3b engine which have distributor and lots of misfire, but I suggest to everybody - use H rods. not so expensive 2 days of work, but means lot , and more...

If the rod bearing fails surely h-beam rods wont help on that, the same goes for preignition.

Also why do people say that 3b and aby/adu use different rods? Atleast acording to etka they are the same and i cant seem to any evidence that they where upgraded.

apparently oldr engines had a 33 or EE stamped on the big end of the rods. This version is said to be stronger.
