yes the earlier models of this turbo had the v-band, later were "standard". My thoughts are you could grind it down and then fit over it, you could get the v-banded part and use the v-band hose and cut it off and use that pipe for your standard coupler.

if its ally you can't MIG it. Can't you just trim the lip so you can get a silicone hose over it and then clamp it on as per usual

The volvo turbo has some kind of vband outlet

Does anybody have any simple home DIY ideas for getting a regular silicone coupler to attach?

Will the turbo "coldside" get too hot to JB weld a sleeve inside the outlet?

Failing that how hard is it to MIG weld a turbo coldside at home?

Or just cut off the vband and clamp on whats left?

Thanks, wastegate appears and acts stock, gives correct boost with n75 unplugged.

Just might need to stick the 7400 on as my stock turbo appears to be dying

Would it be "safe" to run a k24 7400 on an otherwise stock car with the n75 unplugged for a couple of months?

    I went with the K26/K27.

Andy, that is from a 944 turbo 220hp . The part number can be checked here (unfortunately not the hotside part number, only the turbo one):

As it has been said before, your pictures confirm that the compressor housing fits perfect to the Volvo turbo.
I will follow this thread with lots of interest.
    Cheers.

I got another k26, this time with a 50mm exducer, beleived to be porsche, possibly a 944

    Tag

    Hotside

And the hotside on the volvo turbo

If the compressor is the limiting factor in this hybrid it doesn't seem to make sense to install a larger exhaust wheel for more flow, might as well get fast spool.

prj any chance you could get the number off the porsche hotside you have?

And you know why? Because I have more than 300 of such graphs of the RS2 turbo.
I know perfectly when it starts heating air like crazy.

The Volvo turbo has a smaller compressor than the RS2, get your facts straight.
sorry i dont longer have my logs from back then with the stock setup. post something of an rs2. Stock ADU engine/turbo/IC etc.

Appart from it i must apologize about the hp statement. The volvo unit has a smaller then RS2 impeller but better design. The rs2 has an 66/48 compressor impeller and the volvo as stated before with 62/46mm. That said the Porsche/volvo hybrid could at the best come close to the rs2 output.

And a RS2 compressor will not do 380hp without heating the air like crazy on a stock engine.

In your experiance at what sort of power level does the RS2 compressor start to cause excessive inlet temps? 350BHP? I know there are variables like ambient air temps and intercooler size ect.
