I am sorry. I missed the raised, baffled rocker on top of the valve cover. That looks like a great setup.

I dont quite understand the question on the last sentense<dang english variations > but I am venting to atmosphere. In a closed dry sump situation, it would be vented in the boot with coming out of the pot. The stage would all be completely sealed and thus creating the vacume I would love. Some day i'll do it. For now, I'll put up the good fight with a labor intensive, but simplistic seperating system.

I just dont believe that Audi ever intended to use that block port for breathing in motorsport applications. On even the meanest of 5 cylinders, 305hp isnt enough to cause the acceleration that would shoot loads of oil up the galley. I think we would find that Audi did away with that port in most race applications.

    Cheers

Need to look at getting a 19mm breather off the head. As alloy welding isn't something all of us do every day, I'll need to see if I can find someone locally that can do it.

It will be interesting to see what can be achieved by a bolt on solution for more standard cars as we're getting into the realms of exotica (engines) on some of this.

As before, I need to quantify the head oil usage on my car to understand the problem fully.

^^^^ URUguy, yep cool that's what I thought, open system is to atmosphere, sealed is back into intake to pull vacuum.

p.s. just read my question and it was a grammatical minefield

Sweet. I dont feel like a dumb Yank anymore

I dont mind the occasional atomsphere smell at stop lights, but my wife has a problem with it. I may try a valve of some sort to only plumb back into the intake<closed system> for those VERY rare times when she is in the car.. Like yesterday.

Thanks for your input Hank, had a look at some of the piks of the underside of your rocker cover in your project thread

Need to come up with a simple DIY way without all the welding though.

I'd love to know if that riser fits.

Is it possible to use the AAN's valvecover stock breather in- and outlets for better breathing? If I drill holes on the connecting tube inside the cover and draw hosings to a oil separator/catch tank..? Hope you understand what I mean?

Ok, great! Just like I was thinking it. Did u Black weld the breathing holes cover on it's place or how did you fasten it?

                                Breather upgrade similar to blackS2's:

...and a stainless diy oilseparator, needs only some polish:
