Hi all,
Went for a ride this evening in my RS2. Warmed it up for about 15 miles, and after that I gave it some go for 2 or 3 times. A friend jumped in, we drove off, and we both heard a ticking/knocking noise around a steady 2000rpm. Drove a little further, and while accelerating you couldn't hear it, only just when gently stepping of the gas, or holding it steady. Didn't dare to go over 3000rpm, because then it got louder and gave harder knocks...
Drove towards home verrrrry gently nog going above 2000rpm, and when I got home it had gotten a little bit worse. It knocks on just revving it a bit, and it still knocks badly starting from 3000 rpm.
Idle is perfect, oilpressure and level OK, oil itself looks OK, runs OK. It has had a rebuild about 10.000 miles ago, with the big end bearings having been replaced.
main bearings? bent rod? ...
bad video, but you get the idea. The knocks in real life are more 'metallic'.
thanks already!
