Actually only 1/2 a tooth and I went the wrong way, lesson learnt.

Thanks to everyone for there input. Going to buy the hall sensor anyway, for when it fails...

Don't worry about the hall sensor failing, it doesn't happen that often.

How did you check the timing and realise it is 1 tuth out?THX!
I took top cambelt cover off, need to remove a few bits to get at it. Then aligned flywheel mark and checked camwheel mark. it was 1/2 tooth out. So moved belt one tooth, so now 1/2 tooth other way. Turned engine over by hand, OK, and then rebuilt and test drove. All OK and full boost back again

Timing marks a little vague, and the weird thing is it started and ran mint, just basic boost.

A question, when you get an adjustable pulley, is the hall sensor cutout on the camshaft part or the cambelt part of the pulley?

I believe RS2s are always 1/2 a tooth out, quite a common thing to get it the wrong way, glad you got it sorted.

Would I be right in thinking this is because the water pump pulley is a different size to a S2.

I assume the centre to centre between crank and cam is the same, ie, block and head height?

Adjustable pulleys that work with the ABY/ADU/AAN are few and far between. The RS2 item is different to the ABY/AAN item by 10 deg, can't remember which way though
