    Drain to sump

Is there an easy way to replace the oil drain plug with an adaptor that can accomodate a T like piece where the catch tank can drain?

I cannot be bothered removing the sump for welding, so id like an easier solution, if there is one.

i have seen a couple of photos of a subaru, where the oil drain tap was replaced with a banjo 2 sided threaded adapter, and on there was a braided hose coming from the catch tank.

General Technical - Banjo Bolt for sump plug - Anyone know what thread the sump plug is as i want to replace the std plug with a banjo bolt and drain pipe from an oil catch can?

Ideally id like the drain plug to be separate from the catch tank return line, so as when we need to change the oil, it is not fiddled around.

anyone knows a simple solution of any sort?

    thanks

        nice photos!

can anyone find such a plug? or does it have to be Home made??

so there is no problem draining back to the sump via the drain plug! good!

yes it is mainly for the WOT situations.

i need to see if this way the tank will be good enough in keeping the oil and vapours separated. That way i can return the vapours back to the turbo and create a vaccum.

Doug modified a fumoto plug and Mark used an original one.

Have you seen 034's catch tank set up? They have an adaptor that connects the tank drain into the Turbo oil return pipe. I'm not sure whether this is a good idea or not but may be worth checking out.

I had the same setup on my previous S2. The catchtank drain goes to the fumoto sump valve. Make sure you buy the fumoto valve with tube fitting on the end. That way you can put your return hose on that.
I never had issues with this setup. Can highly recommend it for high HP engines because of the amount of oil that goes through the breather system into the catchtank.

                        Jeffer,
                        thanks
is this safe to use and keep it on ON permanently so oil from the tank come back into the sump?
which is the part number for this fumoto valve?

I used a fumoto valve quick and easy, leave it permanently open whilst connected to your tanks drain.
