car peak boost 1.7 and holding 1.5 bar but not strong power delivery very smooth feels like 280bhp not 370bhp any one come across this problem.
new fuel filter, air mass,n75,spark plugs, i was thinking fuel pump delivery down
Wait for the weather to cool down a bit, the air density doesn't appear to be too great at the moment. Took the RallyRep out yesterday in the height of the day and was sure it was down on power, it wasn't giving that second 'shove' towards the top end... Then in the evening the wind got up here and it clouded up, temp dropped to about 20deg and took it out again. It went like the clappers.
85 WR Urquattro, 85 20vT International liveried RallyRep
93 MTMS2 Avant
removed cats but rear exhaust is original, back box is rusted and does rattle sometimes
had this problem since i bought the car on off for some time found loads of faults with boost leaks and temp sensors also stat fault but new samco hoses and all temp sensors replaced and stat replaced as well . i have booked car in next week for full exhaust
checked for faults today on vag com air mass meter out of range, meaning air leak after air mass meter but no air leaks found and holding presure test reset fault code ran up road car goes ok but very smooth power delivery after 3000 rpm revs out to 7000 ok . simply lacks that kick at 3000, i have just had paul s2 central chip this as well. maybe its the way this chip set up is all top end .
Just so you know. The remap you have is same avantus had on the dyno at MRC recently with ~360bhp on crap fuel.
I was going to reply to your pm to advise most likely issue is an air leak or faulty MAF. Beyond that it is worth checking condition of spark plus, coil boots etc
As to the feel of the car when mapped the way I do it - it is deliberately supposed to be smooth and progressive - not the lag lag lag - kick that it left the factory with. The factory software gives that illusion of oomf cos it makes you wait for it.
Get a boost gauge on there - should be seeing 1.8bar mid range tailing off to 1.2 at 6000
If you have vagcom - log group 2 on a pull through 3rd or 4th. Would also be good to log groups 0 and 2 at warm idle. That will help spot an air leak or fuelling issue.
What fuel are you running and is the car completely stock otherwise ?
just done boost run at 4000rpm 1.55 bar going down to 1.1 at 6000rpm 4 gear and 5 gear same results looks like boost leak but havent a clue where from ?
