    MFTS/running rich

I know this has proberbly been asked before but I cant find any threads on it. My MFTS has stopped working on my 3B, could this be the cause of running rich, poor fuel consumption and irratic idle when warm?.

Possible, I have recently changed the Mfts on my 3b s2 and my fuel mpg has gone up loads I am now able to get round about 360 miles to a tank now . Although it may not all be down to it alone as I did several things at the same time like the thermostat,2 speed rad fan and switch, new fuel pump and 2 new front tyres so not totally sure which one part made the difference. It's not that bad to replace , if in dowt put a new one in
never set your expectations to high that way you are never disapointed

I thought the mfts was purely for gauges and the g62 sensor was for the ecu..at least on a 7A...but i could be wrong.

Im trying to track similar demons.... http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...ghlight=needed

It depends. For the 3B the F76 MFTS (thermal switch) still provided the ECU with info:

For the AAN at least, the F76 was used to drive the coolant temp gauge and no more.

What is used for engine temperature warning lamp on "autocheck system" on AAN engine?

I'm asking because have plan to change 3B ecu for AAN ecu, but mu MFTS is bad, always send "overheeting" signal, but temp gauge working fine. If I change ecu, do I have to change MFTS too, because I want that "temp warning lamp" work?

          Thanks in advance!
