Here is a pic of my 3B set up, this is a genuine idler from Audi

Looks to be a similar size to the water pump sproket, your's looks smaller? I'll have a look around in a bit and see if I have an old one I can measure.

That must be it then the idler is wrong part because the 147 teeth belt can not tension enough. Now well get somewhere! Thx again for the information as I stay in a small town where there ain't an Audi dealership that I can get information from. As I have send the S2 for an oil leak repair and it spiraled out to this headache for a week now trying to find info. Thanks again.

Thank you once again for the info. The S2 is fixed and going like a S2 should. Dont know how and why it had the wrong Idler and belt, but all is back to original and running.

Nope, sounds like your kit is for a 7A/3B.

As for QuickTricks issue, i recently discovered the plastic idler pulley is actually for the 2.6/2.8 V6 engine.

I don't think that kit is for an S2, you have too many idler pulleys and the tensioner looks wrong.
