I never saw oil pressure drop (less then 2.8bar) while accelerating 1-0.8G or cornering 2G+, BUT downhill hard braking ~-1.8G it drops ~2.5bar.. stock NEW oil pump and original AAN sump.
Engine is producing ~750-780bhp and running on slicks. Max revs is 7600rpm, 2 bar boost.

also made oil feed to the head "restrictor" 3mm, but nothing changed.

7600rpm is quite safe without any mods. But yes, nervas you are right, these I5 engines arn't the most sensible engines to oil pressure drop. That is what I've heard, but better safe than sorry.

A80Avant, that flap seems quite reasonable.

I have seen the oil pressure drop at left turns to 2.5 bar(left-lift off-car placing-full throttle) with a new stock pump on the long diesel block. Maybe there are also fluctuation on the reading between the cars. I use the stock instrument.

Does your AAN sump has this extension on the turbo side?

Where do you mount this restriction for the head supply? Is it ok for a daily driver?

No extension on the sump! It is aan sump.. What oil are you using?
Restrictor is in the head over external oil feed to the head and stock feed is blocked. It is safe if not hydro lifters.

Are you using datalogger? Or you are seeing pressure drop on stock gauge?

What is the general opinion on this set up then? Will it do the job adequately?

Its good but a front and rear baffle is better for braking and acceleration.

I made the flaps from 1mm steel and the baffle plate is 2mm, they are all bolted in with the nuts welded so they dont vibrate out.

I run hyd lifters and run to 7750 rpm so this maybe why my engine benefits from a sump like this.

Would a flap covering all 3 inlet from the turbo return cause any issues of the oil coming from the turbo at any point, thus increasing its backpressure? Or no?

I'm sure the info will be useful to I5 owners too.

For anyone that may doubt these they are used in BTCC as dry sumps were banned, combined with a well baffled sump its the next best thing to a dry sump without the huge costs involved in sorting one.

Sorry for late answer, but was at the Gatebil track day this weekend and used up 160L of E85

I bought an electronic setup for easier use when pre-oiling, but I have had problems with two sets of valves/pressure switch so on the last two trackdays I've had to run it without a valve. I've found out that a mechnical setup with constant open valve(without pressure switch) gives the most stable oil pressure so I'm removing the pressure switch and running just with the on/off switch.

                    regarding the gasket thickness

I´ve learnt that there are two types of oilpan gaskets, one thicker and one thinner (1 mm) which supposedly goes in when the aby/adu windage tray is used (i.e when using two gaskets) Has anyone encountered problems with using the thicker gaskets in the double configuration?

I've used 2 std ( thick ) gaskets and not had a problem.
