Thanks to Andy's info and diagrams and a swift kick to my butt, I have checked with the Bentley and produced this diagram for the AAN (now part of the AAN MFTS info post: http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/msgs/22584.phtml)

I can't understand why the MTFS would cause this definitely is though, it's simple... plug it in, runs rough; pull it out, nice n smooth.

Oh and driving for a couple of days with S2 power and then going to remapped RS2+ power is like night 'n day

Oh and it's the black/blue wire that corroded right through.
Well if it is the thermal switch sending a signal intermittently, then your boost will go yo-yo all the time, that's for sure.

Just ordered the replacement housing and pins from the 'stealer. Gotta love audi prices:

tiny piece of moulded plastic £1.75
tiny pair of pins with a couple of inches of wire attached - £5.50 / pair

So just over £12 the lot; if i weren't so desperate I would have bought pins separately
