All sorted. Just found a chap locally who had a chipped ABY ECU with a 3 bar map sensor so that's what it's running now. No idea of power, 280bhp was mentioned but it goes well, boosts up to about 16psi.

Good news but not fantastic news . A chip set with a 3 Bar Map should get you to about 21 or 22 psi, not 16. Early days. I am sure you will sort it out (maybe a boost leak).

Hmmm,

I drove it with a stock ABY ECU also and the max boost with that was around 12psi. Looking at the previous posts, if the stock ECU maxes out at 2.2 bar (17psi) then maybe my Boost gauge isn't as accurate as I'd like... if so my 16psi suddenly becomes 21psi.

I'll pull the ECU and take some photos of the chips.

It has an external MAP sensor - prob some cheap thing.

I did pull the cover off and have a quick look, the main reason I went for that ECU is that the boards are socketed.

I haven't been able to find out anything about the map sensor yet. There's no manufacturers name on it.

I will re do the wiring with a proper plug soon.

As those chips are UV erasable should really have stickers over the windows! Chips don't look to be OE either. Bit of a mash up!
