As if I dont have enough problems.

I am beging to doubt my sanity right now, with my entire fleet of 3 audis all with problems.
My S6 MOT ran out september 2011 I have been useing the s2 to put some miles on it and run it in for the map to be redone, still got the idle issues and not running to good, dispite lots of work trying to get it right, plus the MOT runs out in 2weeks.
s6 failed on stearing gaiter, track rod end tyre exhaust blowing, rear break disks and pads, hand break ,one tyre with a lump out of the side, and the hand brake, rear drivers side door wont open from inside.
Now my wifes 80 cabby has failed on emmisions, running to rich, and a tye rod.
I have spent ages chasing a missfire problem on this car,and after replacing just about everything[you know how women moan when there cars not right]and adventually trased it down to the fuel filter, which fixed it. Last year I replaced the cats and front pipes etc, every thing on the ignition side is replaced, lamds are a couple of years old tps was replaced.
So I am now completly stumped, because I cannot read the codes, there is no power to the the connectors in the fuse box so cant read the diagnostics
I have a word that I could use right now but I am not allowed.
Any addvise right now would be greatfully appreciated.

There is a fuse for the power to the diagnostic plug in the fuse box.

Hi there. Sorry to hear about your problems!

I own 2 bikes and 2 cars and not so long ago they were all off the road for one reason or another, it is very frustrating.

With regards to the cabriolet's emissions - first thing I would try is buying a bottle of Forte fuel system cleaner, put this in with some shell v power and take the car for a good blast, do this just before you get the emissions tested again. My father has been in the trade a good long while and sometimes these older cars just need a good thrashing before they will pass. It may or may not work but it is certainly worth a try as I have witnessed it work on more than one occasion.

The other thing is what kind of CAT's did you buy? I know that some of the cheaper motor factor ones are not good and can go within a year. Worth checking this out if yours are still less than one year old as they will be under warranty.

Good luck and I hope you sort it soon

21 i think, listed as something like "diagnostic/after run" on fuse box cover, 10amp.

Sorry to read of your woes, Lou.

If it is any consolation, Steph had to dig the Midget out of the garage to get to work recently, and that normally only goes out on dry summer days.
The Lupo chucked off its alternator pulley, I had the Porsche, A3 had a broken clutch, S3's battery was flat, and you know about the S2.
I didn't like being down to 2 cars, especially when it's winter and they're both RWD. I've now heard driving the Midget at night is not pleasant.
Now I think the Box's alternator is on its way out.

I was glad of the Christmas break to catch up on a few jobs.

A few days before Christmas I discovered the MOTs on the Avant and the UR had run out.

                    3 months earlier!

Not that I'd been driving them at all

The UR failed fairly horribly, the Avant just needed a couple of droplinks but still had to get them in and fit them just before Christmas and get the retest.. And you know, if its run out and you didn't know its one thing.. but if you know its run out and drive anyway I just think its asking for a pull..

So then I have to borrow a car to go and pick up my RS4 sorted for a car now
except it fails to start and I spend a whole saturday faffing about fixing it and still don't really know why it didn't start..

I'll share my box of man size tissues with you boys

I honestly had no idea the mot had run out,or I would have delt with the problems in good time.but I hold my hands up and I know its my fault.
Getting the s2 back together has been all consuming, not to mention the fact that I have been to 5 funerals in the month of December, one of which was my brother. And beleave you me it causes you to take your eye of the ball a bit
But things happen in life ,and life go's on.
Right now I need to get all of my three cars sorted

Sorry to hear about your brother Lou, that is certainly a tough one to deal with.

I think its fair to say that the end of last year was pretty full on, its the firsttime I've ever got that far adrift on the MOTs.. I did several big drives round the UK motorway systems including visits to airports and into London and with all the number plate recognition these days I'm still wondering if a brown envelope is going to drop through the door..
