The sound is much louder and clearer at the beginning when you stuck the camera under the car. Certainly the right area and frequency to be flywheel/flex plate. At first i thought it might be coming from the exhaust system due to a bent exhaust valve but i'm putting my money on Tonks suggestion

every tooth on the pickup for the crank sensor has a big bur on it like its been hitting something..........

HAve they put the right sensor in ?..I would check part numbers

had the camera inside the gearbox bell housing, mr fly wheel has been having a chat with the gearbox housing!!! so much for the ****ed engine bmw!!!!! even better tho, phoned for a price for a replacment flywheel (oem (luk)) £1000 from bmw - price from luk - £360.......... nice bit of mark up there!!!!!!

Glad you found it, my only worry now would be failed thrust bearings incase its the crank that decided to have a little walk.
