The info and diagrams below will help you.
The diagram that I created (with some drafting help) after doing the first ever documented conversion to 1.8t coilpacks (same for 2.0tfsi) on my 93 UrS4 AAN in 2005 (note: wiring colours at the harness connectors might be slightly different for the ABY - see second diagram for ABY wire colours):
Here are the AAN, ABY and ADU wire colours that you need to consider when developing a 2.0tfsi coilpack harness for your ABY:

Subsequently, a fellow in Latvia found that Volvo had the necessary 4 pin connectors that are needed to connect to the harness POS connectors. Here are the details:

Do i need the N122 and N127 units for the V8 coil packs, I've wired these in my 3b but have not included these????
Has anyone any idea how this would be modified to suit a 4cyl 1.8t AEB engine. Mine has just 1 POS.
You have the three pin, bolt on coils, with a separate 5 pin Power Output Stage. It would be very easy to make the conversion to 4 pin 1.8t/2.0 TFSU non-bolt in coil packs provided two things are available:
1. The AEB ignition wiring diagram that shows the pins and wire colours for the POS.
2. There is a compatible 5 pin MALE connector that would take the place of the POS and connect into the 1.8t engine harness from the ECU.
The first one would be easy. The second might take some digging. I think the harness connector (with the female pins) that connects to the five pin POS is a 443906235. However, I asked my friend Katie and she can't find a matching male pin equivalent. That is not a defeat, just a set back. There will be something that will work. It will just take a bit of looking.

Hope you've sorted your parts shipping efforts as per yesterdays postings.
The latest V8 (and 4 pin 1.8t and 2.0 TFSI coil packs), eliminate the need for the N122 and N127 POSs because they have built in, internal, POSs. That was one of the main reasons I developed the conversion back in 2005.
I am not sure how you can get a 3B to function with five coils of any kind without running either an AAN or ABY ECU.

034MS (yeah, I know) sells a kit. Issam at INA deverloped it IIRC. You can also buy the whole kit from INA. Wirelooms, brackets, coils. It eliminates the ICM on the AEB.

Torben the kit you bought from the bay, was it good quality also can this be fitted to
The aby s2 coupe

I'm not using it yet, but it seems fine. Good quality plugs and nice isolation everywhere.
An ABY is an ABY to my knowledge, so it should work. The POS's are on the firewall, right? Only problem I can think of are if the POS's are mounted further from the coils on RHD cars.
I see the price is going up, sometimes you can find it a bit cheaper in an auction.
