The hallsensor is only there for the start up of the car IIRC... A faulty hall sensor shouldn´t stop the car once running, but will not start the car when sensor is hot.

My ZX6R did this one year turned out to be valve clearance would start from cold no problem but would cut out once hot and not restart

have you got a healthy cylinder head try a compression test?
        cheap check no parts required

dont know if it`s much use just a thought.

Did you get to change the electrical ignition switch ?

Not an expensive part, particularly given your current position.

          Best wishes.

when engine is on idle try to wiggle wires going to crank shaft sensor, also when engine is not running i would check connector to Crank shaft sensr for backed up pins etc.
as mentioned before cam position sensor is req.only to start engine.

Yes thats my idea too, becuse it doesnt make any difference if the sensor is connected or not the car suddenly dies anyway.

Any idea is good, will do a comp test, but the car always starts directly after it has died. And it gets worse when the engine is hotter, and worse when you put your foot down

Not quite 100% true. A faulty G40 Cam Sensor will stop a running car even though it isn't supposed to (based on IrishS2's post to *this* forum):

The hallsensor has been destroyd by the camsprocket becuse the sprocket that runs inside the sensor is not round it something or someone has hit it.

Good news = you found the problem.

This is not the first time a G40 has been broken by the shutter wheel (why, I do not know):

Any idea how that happened? Are you running the belt cover? Are you running the undertray/belly pan? Do you travel on gravel (unpaved) roads?

I posted a photo of your bent G40 shutter wheel on my home forum for ideas and their answer was just what you said: somebody has jammed a screwdriver (or the like) through one of the sprocket holes to block it when removing or tightening the cam sprocket bolt, instead of using the proper tool with the two round discs that fit into sprocket holes. (I can't find a photo of one but I have seen them)
