    Revs dropping when lifting off

After changing the ICV on my car it now idles well (well, okay) but ever since I've had it I've had a problem with the revs dropping to stalling levels when changing gear or just reving in neutral. I.E. When shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear I put the clutch down and the revs drops to an indicated 2-300rpm before it stabilised.

It sounds like an air leak to me, but has anyone experienced similar?

Certainly sounds similar to my issue. I should have said, I have a '91 3B.... does this sensor exist on my car?

**Looks like it does and for the price of the one you linked on eBay I might as well switch it out.

          That's what I've bought, yeah

I'll be doing a bit of a sensor refresh along with the timing belt in a couple of weeks.

                Got this on my 3B

Solved by adjusting the dashpot . It wasn't adjusted properly to easy the throttle closing so it was slow and gentle (so as to not bang shut). I adjusted the dashpot position and then rotated the throttle position switch so it registered open/closed properly.

You can hear the microswitch click but it's quiet so engine off in a quiet place. Open the throttle and then close it and listen

While the gurus are here, on a completely unrelated subject, is an alternator replacement a bumper off job?

Don't think so, should be able to get to the bolts with a ring spanner ok.
