@karl: Star Performance wish they had written S2 chipsets. What you have is probably done by one of their friends (I won't say any names), but Doug's sure wasn't done by them, we have only used their dyno to measure the power/torque.

Yes, you're right Mihnea. I recall it was written by a guy who used to work at AMD and wrote their chipsets 'apparently'. It's ok, but spool up time and boost is not that much above standard to be honest. I would like you to PM me (I thought you were away for 2 weeks!~!!?) with a cost for the chip with the turbo etc we spoke about.

Wow...!!! Thanks Doug. That's a shopping list and a half! How much difference do you think a 2" DP from the wastegate would make? And (stupid question) if it's separate, where does it join the main DP?

Geoff at AMD used to do the S2/RS2s - although my chips never had the knock sensors on

The seperate wastgate DP does not rejoin the exhaust. Mine and Toms points out the bottom of the car - this is ok as the car will always be moving when the wastgate is modulating - although on the RR you burn the paint off the rolling road

It must be working hard at high rpm, as it glows red - it also means you can get uninterupted flow out your turbo down your main downpipe.

Lack of knock sensors...ouch. Mine has them AFAIK as I can here them coming in occasionally

Here it is!! And thats with crap cooling. Approx gain with correct cooling is 30bhp more.

If thats correct I don´t think thats pretty much, when here in Brazil are a lot of golfs gti only with small upgrades without internals with 300 whps and some 320 whps. with only 1.4 bar in K16 turbos running ethanol.

Golfs dont have 25% or greater transmission loss of the 4wd S2
