Should be going on early next week. Hard to believe there was a new one in stock in little old New Zealand.
Then I be sorting out my issues with the rebuild of the original turbo.
Yip, the real deal Dave.
I dont know if its old stock but the impression I got was that they can get them. Someone on here gave me the idea they were NLA.
It cost me $1,800 NZD + GST

I know where this pallet of "RS2" turbos (below) lives. Your's *might* be one on its brethern. They are K24-7200 built by Borg Warner Turbo Systems who bought KKK turbo awhile back. They were built and labelled outside of the Audi system so the PNs are not the same as an original RS2 turbo. Can you post up a clear image of the aluminum and blue SN plate on the turbo?

Oh, OK. But it will perform just like the old one?
Does anyone want me to find out if there are anymore in stock?
When these factory "clone" RS2 turbos came out in 2004 (or 2003)as "5324-988-7200", we were told that they were the same spec as the original RS2 turbos except that they do not fit into the Audi parts numbering system. I am running one on my RS2'd AAN and have made 289 wheel hp on a 4 wheel dyno (rolling road) (about 360 crank hp) with MRC Stage 3 software. A friend who also RS2'd his 97 UrS6 with the same turbo and RS2 hardware has made 298 wheel hp (about 370 crank hp) with Dahlback software (a bit more agressive than the MRC software). So, to answer your question, in my opinion and based on my experience with the same Borg Warner turbo, your new "RS2" turbo should perform as well or better than your old RS2 turbo (before the troubles).

I have the car back now with the new turbo on. The performance feels a bit flat.
The good news is Im off to Auckland tomorrow, Im taking the damaged turbo up to one of NZ's top turbo gurus - Steve Murch from Motor Sport Engineering. Hes going to give me a report on was caused the damage.
good luck! I've just read this thread now and I had no idea you had so much trouble with it! Damn! what a mission!
