Difficult to tell from the vid but what you describe sounds like a big end. You will probably be getting timing pull to from the knock sensors due to the mechanical noise.

David's car sounded very similar and had actually spun two bearings but good oil pressure so don't be guided by that.

Dropping the sub frame and sump is a fairly quick and easy job...

The thought had crossed my mind! Serious lack of funds to focus on remaps unfortunately at the moment but it feels strong, i reckon it will go north of 300easy

No, was a K24 which Craig at CR modified. Bigger, lighter cold side wheel and (cant remember dimensions) I think it was a 3 degree cut back on the exhaust wheel.

Even though it is (still yet) to be properly mapped, it pulls nicely. Maybe I'll chuck some of my crap up on ebay and see if i can get it sorted in the spring. Do it some justice finally lol

I ran a Hoffer billet hybrid for a while. Sounded hilarious but never got it mapped and my cracked exhaust manifold wasn't helping things!

Its a disaster, rods and caps dot punched on sides and mixed up in different bores, mains caps on in the wrong order, bearings shot, rod bearings broken or down to the copper, signs of seizing of mains.. Also the head is fooked

On the plus side we have a new set of rods and Lou 220bhp has supplied a crank and bearings thumbs:

The order is 631452, the only one that's in the right position is number 4 (which can only fit there)

I remember the car on ebay.It was listed twice.Would be nice to know if Newsh had info from the seller concerning its condition when he bought it or perhaps the lack of.Can't remember if the seller had the car long or not.

Don't know if the £3k asking price on ebay was paid but given what has happened i would be really p****d of with the previous owner.Shocking what's happened there.
