    MAF and air filter?

Do ya reckon this might be causing problems just thought I'd check it as it's the only thing I haven't, thought it was done by the engine man when he put my new engine in, apparently not

Okay the MAF screen could be some kind of mistake/oversight but trimming the air filter gasket to make it fix the airbox is complete BS. Somebody needs a slap upside the haid.

Anything that looks like the maf and the filter should ring ALARM BELLS It's just not cricket old boy! Underhanded bowling there if you get my meaning.

Easy enough to sort out though.

To be fair he said he never looked in the air box so had no idea about the filter and state of MAF, I put a new filter in tonight and it fit fine so no clue as to why this would be done. Got a spare MAF in the shed so will fit that n see how it is. Had the tyres screeching round the local roundabouts tonight an seems to rev to 7 thou without hiccups so who knows😊

Just whip out the wire lock and remove the damaged screen.

Not a good idea if you want to a) protect the hot-wire in the MAF and b) maintain nice straight flow into the MAF so the portion of the flow that the hot-wire samples is representative of the entire flow.

Alternatives include the mesh style that the RS2 MAF uses or a 3D honeycomb metal mesh.

£65? Bargain. You got anymore hidden away you wanna sell ha ha? Mine was replaced a few years ago, so hoping it will be good for a while but dreading it going pop. Don't think they exist anymore. Can you send them back to Bosch for reworking?
