180,000 miles in my S2 and I've never got the after-run relay to kick in. Yes, I've tested it and the module works but never got things hot enough to trigger it at the moment of switch off.

Given the above I've long given up worrying about whether it works or not.

      This is reassuring thank you

There is a way to test it from memory. Urs4boy did a good thread on cooling system here if you hunt for it. Mine only comes on after a really fast run on a warm day.

If you turn on your ignition then you should hear the pump run for about 10 to 15 seconds if I remember correctly , it’s also very quiet and hard to hear

IIRC the best way to test it is to connect the two wires at the temperature switch in the cylinder head water manifold together and then see that the pump and fan start when you stop the engine.

If you want to make the system more effective replace the manifold temperature switch with part #LWS294. It has a slightly lower trigger temperature than the factory fitted one so the after-run system is triggered more usefully.

              thanks!

it's tru hole, so doable for most of us as long as you can tell the hot part of the soldering iron

now just need to find whare I left the module, I removed it long time ago because the fan kept running, draining the battery

Pleased to report that in all this hot weather in the UK I have heard my after run pump working on one of my S2s. Will test the other soon,
