Visited newsh yesterday to do the boost test. Discovered boost leak by the wastegate and one of the injectors were leaking, dumb valve was "kaput" too. Now that's all sorted and the damn thing still isn't running, and if that's not enough, one of the injectors died.

And BTW hunker7, a boost leak WILL occur "overnight" (or instantaneously) when a boost host splits. Re-read my post on AAN boost leak testing.
I am now making friends with gavs20v, and hope he can help me with boost test

Click on the URL below and open up the live version of my engine bay device map (and then book mark it for future reference).

Then click on the F96 Altitude sensor box in the upper left corner. It should tell you what you need to know about it.

But you still need to do that boost leak test to eliminate split hoses from the equation.

No idea about vagcom I'm afraid. Have a search on here about it, there's lots of info on how to test and adjust it. The basics of it is measure resistance over pins 1 and 2, should be around 1200 ohms. If its more than that then carefully prise the retaining lugs apart, open the unit and bend the metal tab until resistance is correct. Mine was reading over 1500 ohms and I adjusted it to just under 1200. It sounds tricky but its actaully very easy to test and modify once you have it in your hands. Once open the way the unit works should be self explanatory

Passenger side, behind kick panel under glovebox. If the inlet pipe pulses after revving it, that would say to me there's possibly something wrong with the dump valve...depends how big the pulsing is I guess

It does seem like a boost leak, as yesterday managed to squeeze 0.8 bar at 100mph. gavs20v you got a PM
