How much, what to use to get somewhere 350-500bhp?

    Hey guys,

I have an aby s2. It has chip, exhaust to 3inches, decat and suspension and brakes been done.
What would I need to do to get some more power into her?
I'm looking at good power early spool. But till what point / power /setup would I achieve before upgrading pistons etc...

I'm looking to get more power .. hoping for 400bhp minimum. for not spending an arm or a leg. I hear rs2 setups are good and simplistic to do. how much bhp could I get out of this and what parts would I need? how much would it cost?

Please by all means send your thoughts on setups/ bhp and costs ... (the aim is to have a very responsive engine with good power ... and less turbo lag if can help it.).

    thx

With RS2 setup (turbo, injectors, fuel pump, exhaust manifold) you can get 360 HP. Costs, well the turbo is 500 EURO, injectors 250, fuel pump let's say bosch 044 - 200, EM - here it depends, replica 100, rs2 used one 250, wagner new one 690.

Not sure about any of that pricing but where can you get an RS2 K24-7200 turbo for 500 Euros? Seems too low.

Well those are real prices, what I wrote.
Of course people is asking more on ebay or other sites. But if you dig and have time you can find even lower prices.
For instance somebody is offering me now an RS2 turbo for 400 euro, RS2 motronic 250 euro, and some other parts.
But I'm dry out of money and I have to go to Woerthersee next week so that will be another expense.

Grab good 5000€ to do the things well @ 360bhp

Once you open the engine, the sky is the limit in power terms and you'll need VERY BIG pockets to build all and more important... To keep it on the road with the big maintenance

                A good 500bhp S2 will eat +20k € only in parts

The gulf between 350 and 500hp is huge in terms of performance and cost.
350 you can do easily with bolt-on parts for around £2k. You need to triple that budget or maybe more for a reliable 500hp.
Most people will tell you a good map on RS2 hardware is the best for a road car, and that you can do for £2k

I agree with the above, if you don't want to spend too much money then go for a chipped RS2 set up, it really is quite enough for the road and isn't that expensive.

For extra bang for your buck reduce your cars weight

The difference in cost between 350BHP and 500 is huge, if you want that bigger figure you'll have to put up with lag and change gear more often.

As has already been said by some experienced dudes on here one way is RS2 chipped for a reasonable sum. What hasn't been mentioned is drivability except by Kit. RS2 turbo is laggy low down so the best turbo for a no nonsense no lag modern newer technology turbo is the Volvo K24 7400 which will give 350bhp and super driverbility even low down.
