I was advised to upgrade the fuel pump on my S2 ABY. With the ABY having as standard a 4 bar FPR does that make a difference?
I have the following modifications ready to install.
RS2 Turbocharger, RS2 Exhaust manifold, 440cc injectors, R8 coil conversion and software mod for about 360hp.
The gentleman who did the software change advised one of the following pumps
A RS2 fuel pump
B Bosch 044
C Walbro 255 lph
I contact one of the local suppliers in SA and they came back with.
1. Bosch 040 (comparative to the Walbro 255LPH)
2. Bosch 044 (externally mounted whereas the 040 is internally mounted)
3. I.E. Submerged 044 billet Surge tank with integrated Pump. (this gets fed by your existing oem pump)
I know nothing about pumps all I do know is.
It must suit the modifications I am making.
It must be a straight fit.
It must be quite.
Not sure but I think if using am external pump in line with the existing submerged pump is not such a good idea.
When changing the pump must I do anything else to the fuel system?
