Ended up stranded in the S2 for the second time in over 6 years this week. Luckily I wasn't far from home and a mate with a low loader was in the area.
To cut a long story short 3 weeks ago I fitted a pretty much new RS2 turbo. It had been fitted and run on the previous car to get it on and off trailers and basically just sat around for a few years.
So on Tuesday I overtake a lorry and just as I get past I hear a squeal and a cloud of smoke pours out behind me. Oil was actually pouring out of the exhaust afterwards!
After an SOS call to Alex/Error (Cheers mate) and trying a quick fix which didn't work I decided to get it home to have a proper look before doing any more damage. Anyway I got it recovered home and finally had the chance to have a proper look today and as soon as I removed the turbo hose it was pretty clear what had caused the problem:

Having had a search about it looks like I'm not the first S2 owner to have this happen. Unfortunately as the turbo has been sat about so long I don't think I can do anything apart from moan on here! Or hopefully someone else will avoid a similar thing happening.
The compressor wheel looks screwed to me, or will it be salvageable?
