you can try to block off all the little pipes on the intake and the bigger pipe from your brake vacuum booster if you have one.
also let the engine running and spray some breakcleaner on the intake seal so you can hear if something changes

if you allow me to post some snapshot of the error i found,i think so many peoples can chime in and help you sorted.
but that's the right manner to be asking you for permission first.

            Nip,
if you really suspect there's some leaks on the intake.the best simply way is doing the pressure test on the whole system.

I'm going to take the inlet off Saturday to double check for cracks

How do you pressure test the car?

I take the bottom hose off the turbo and blow in air from there if I blow air from the front of the turbo it blows through to the sump

Yeah you need to plug off PCV first if blowing through the MAF hose.
find some air leak and using soapy water on any clamps and vacuum lines.

Ok, as long as the manifold is connected when you do that you can rule out a vacuum leak.

Changed the im and tb gasgets today but still the same , but we did notice today that the throttle body flap has has score marks on it.
Whilst on idle I can push down on the idle butterfly and the revs do lower so am thinking this could be a problem

When I had my first throttle flap made to 70mm I had noticed that same thing,ie the flap did not seal 100% the opening and therefore I did get similar problems. However that was the time I was still on mega tune and idle programming with vems was a random configuration
