One trick i use to find leaks that works 100% in all situations is to have a small ball that has a slightly larger profile than my air sucktion hose, put that into the airhose at the filter to choke the engine. If theres any leaks, the engine will try to pull air from the leak and you will hear it instantly as it will scream. If theres NO leaks the engine will die all most instantly after sucking all your hoses flat for air. ☺Comment

The hose you put the ball in ? ☺ if yes - then its the one going up to the airfilter case. So unplug your airfilter case and start the engine. You should feel air being sucked in if you put your hand close to the hose. Now in one go block the hose with the ball and witness what happens next. If everything is okai, the engine will die out almost instantly after sucking all possible air out of your hoses where it can.
If theres a leak the engine will continue to run for a bit longer depending on the size of the leak and you will hear the sound of air being sucked in from somewhere on your engine. In such case it can be everything from a vacuum hose to a crankshaft breathing pipe.
Sometimes the leak can be big enough to keep your engine running.
Good luck ☺Comment

Option 2:
Since you mentioned the recirculation valve. If you unplug it, then use a vacuum-pistol to test it to see if its working as intended. Make 1 bar of vacuum with the pistol and let it stay there for a minute. When the minute has passed, check if the valve has closed it self or if the 1 bar vacuum has change value towards overpressure.
The valve may not move a single millimeter doing the time.
If you dont have a vacuum pistol, you can do a "do it yourself" trick, by attaching a vacuum hose to the valve and then try and suck air with your mouth to see if it operates. Its not as good as with the pistol, but gives a hint about the condition. Sometimes the valve is stuck or have cracks from oil leakage from your turbo.
If it has cracks, then air will push through the valve when its not suppose to during pressure build-up.Comment

once again i forgot to mention if the valve has cracks in its outer casing, it will suck air from the enviroment which will make your rpm raise in idle mode

Check your throttle damper is also set correctly and not holding the air flap open slightly

I've loosened the damper off completely I find it strange that if you hold the ball part off the throttle down it does lower the idle does that happen on all of out cars tho?Comment

As Alex says, there is a resistance value that should be checked to make sure the throttle position switch is also set in the correct positionComment

I haven't checked but can tomorrow, how do u mean idle switch when I replaced the tb gasket the Tps was working fine when I open the throttle it would clickComment
