    Core plug!

Old one is out, had a dodgy moment when it disappeared inside what would we do without magnets?
The big hole is from the self tapper.
It's very rusty on the inside.

Fitted the new one, made a realy short drift from ali bar with a step to hold the plug, smeared with Heldite, tapped it in flush. I'll fill and run up to temp in the morning.

Hopefully all ok, was actually easier than I thought it would be

Probably the cheapest Audi part I've ever bought, £1.01 from TPS.

The 3B water spigot would have been metal so this has been replaced, I think maybe when I fitted the Samcos a couple of years back.
However, I have enquirer with Rusty for one of his billet anodised jobs [emoji6][emoji106]

                      Result, nice job!

I had that metal pipe flange corrode through and fail on my 7A, and the plastic one on my ABY crumbled when i tried to tighten a hose back onto it. Which is the lesser of two evils?

I think the crumbling is worse, cos you get a big leak immediately.

Nice work, I've got to admit I didn't think there was room to get enough swing on the hammer to get it back in!

                            Used the hammer sideways

Mmm, that's what I've been thinking there will be a couple of spares in the glove box

The one at the back of the head will have been the one getting hottest though I reckon..
