Does the LED not just tell you that the sensor is getting 12v and works? I guess the signal wire might be broken? I had an intermittent non start for months and turned out to be damaged cam sensor wire

While I definitely don't profess to understand electrics, could it be the ignition switch? easy and cheap to replace which will rule out the switch being a / the culprit.
Looking forward to hearing what it turns out to be.
Based on member's experiences in the past, consider double checking stuff methodically again even though you've done it already.
If you're lucky it may be something that you can find by following people's suggestions, rather than the killer "one in a million fault" that you only find after you've broken the car for parts or burnt it.

I think the LED test is for the signal wire from the ecu.
Have re-checked all wiring and earths and also replaced the 5A fuse in the red holder above the ecu for peace of mind.
Could it be the Cam pulley by any chance? I do have a spare one[SIGPIC]1997 Ur-S6 SMS Revo SComment
