    Tuning WR UR Quattro

Anyone know what can be done with these to tune them up? can they be chipped etc? Dont think they have electronic boost control on them though.

What other tuning can be done without spending loads.

    Cheers

p.s. looks like my dad is getting bitten by the performance bug again

First off make sure its running as it should and go from there. You can do a bit to them but not so easy as its K-Jetronic.

Speak to Dialynx, you cannot reliably tune a stock WR ur quattro, the K jetronic will not flow enough fuel beyond 240BHP, and chipping is a waste of time because you spend £££'s for the chip and they don't even use one! All it is, is a 50pence priced piece of a diode (Zener)

Yep its a diode tweak on the WR ECU, but K-Jetronic is indeed the bottleneck. I'm no expert on these old donkeys and their Hitachi ECUs, but I did help certain individuals with a successful little project to graft a Motronic 20V ECU onto a WR engine. Basically its an RS2 setup they chose with the necessarily y bizarre timing map to suit the WRs much lower compression ratio.
