Oil pump replace or substitute for the AAN

I recall something about making the Diesel pump work, but I can not remember the details.

I want to dig this topic upwards, because now i need solve a oil pump for my stroker build aat engine block. Old pump i damaged (crack around bolts of oil pipe) So i need to buy new one. As 3B/7A (034115105B) oil cost a fortune (twice as a AAT) and AAT oil pump have the same gear ratios, is there anybody else who running AAT OIL PUMP (074115105C) ? I want to be 100% sure before i buy something. Tomorrow i get there a pics of damaged my old aat pump, if could be repaired or not.

And why have AAT oil pump in ETKA four numbers?

Did you have any luck with this as my engine re builder has recommended a new oil pump? I don't want to pay nearly 600 euro to Audi Tradition!

What is wrong with your OE pump?
I have measured about 12 of these now and unless the engine has suffered a catastrophic failure they are always perfectly fine.
I would rather use a 200k mile original pump than a brand new Febi part. Just my 2c.

Thanks for that advice because I was thinking the same. Surely if the oil pressure is ok, there is no need to change? I think my re builder is being hyper cautious. Is there any way to check the pump when the engine is out?
