For what it's worth on mine ,stock Aby :
Ts chips
Rs2 turbo
Rs2 exh manifold
Rs2 injectors
Rs2 Intercooler
Rs2 airbox
Bosch 44 fuel pump
Standard Aby fpr
1.8t coils
3" turbo back exhaust one small silencer
Did 3 runs highest 388 but was told it had wheel spin lowest from memory was 373 as it started getting hot
What injec/chipset for RS2+ power

100% correct ^^I think you are in danger of getting swept along with the flow and spending money unnecessarily for your target. Unless you have issues I'd leave the head alone and not open that can of worms. Get a good quality intercooler, some appropriate injectors, fit the turbo, map it & enjoy.Leave a comment:

Well your 292awhp factoring around 20% losses puts you around 360 crank which tallies well with Dmitri's reports

I'll add my input as I have personally ran this turbo in my 2.2l AAN.
First off specs of my build:
STOCK AAN long block (no rods, no head work, but it did have a set of ARPS and a fresh head gasket)
ABY Inlet manifold
ABY Intercooler
RS2 Exhaust manifold
IROZ 3" downpipe to Stebro 2.5" exhaust
Stock Coupe Quattro Fuel Pump
4 bar FPR
630cc Siemens Deka Injectors
Stock ABY Fuel Rail
1.9 bar wastegate spring
Stock ABY Wiring harness
VEMS Plug and play ECU
Now my dyno results with this setup, on a mustang dyno at 4000' of elevation were: 292 AWHP and 378 AWTQ
For Reference, the same day, (it was an Audi Dyno Day I organized) we had 3 B7 RS4 owners dyno their cars.
First one had 285 awhp
Second which had OPEN exhaust and had a fresh carbon cleaning had 293 awhp
third which had open exhaust, jhm tune, de flapped intake manifold, and a carbon clean 312awhp.
I had more than 100awtq than ALL OF THEM. These are '450bhp' Cars from the factory.Leave a comment:

Carried away.
Definitely not! I hear what your saying guys ordinarily but I'm in this for the long term. It's in my nature to be a little bit OCD,you know what that's like,
and make something all it can be.I'm not chasing big BHP like many just extreme efficiency while keeping good mpg's within my budget. I want an as new head so i can forget about worn valve guides, oil stem seals etc etc,and while i'm in there i'm getting it blue printed so it's as efficient and smooth as possible. At least the top end will support any future possibilities should i wish.

AndyG has had a dyno run of 388 on RS2 set up as mentionedWhy not RS2 injectors? Good question? .. .. .. .. I've literally just got of the phone to JP and been discussing possible bhp benefits. There are obvious benefits to the port matching and flowing i.e., smoother boost lower down and a wider power band just not necessarily the 10% extra bhp i thought as i'm being governed by the Volvo turbo, measured by prj at 350bhp albeit on a standard AAN. I'm adding a Wagner EVO RS2 EM which according to JP adds another 15bhp,turbo allowing. So combined with the Volvo turbo if it allows, i'm looking at min 350 to a possible 365 bhp. Here's the rub, wouldn't 365bhp not put me on the cusp or limit of the RS2 injectors duty cycle?

What Alex says
I think the gains and feel of the drive for so much extra effort and cost will be minimal, have a go in mine see what ya think I reckon mine is somewhere between 280/340 and it is great fun to drive. Didn't crack the engine open just went down the RS2 route but with the Hybrid Nothelle turbo had it custom mapped

Why not RS2 injectors? Seem to crop up fairly often, are large enough for your requirements and will sell on easily enough if you want to go larger?Leave a comment:

Yes I believe Pace are some of the best without getting into expensive bespoke aero/pro motorsport gear

Thanks for clearing that up John.
Alex i hear what your saying about Quality and thanks for that!
Your right about Darrens packaging problems which led to the 2 smaller IC's. Mark at Automark recommended pace as a supplier of IC's and from memory over a long period aren't they supposed to be one of the best?? What would you recommend as a supplier??
Cheers.

Not all intercoolers are made equal. The efficiency of the core is the important thing not its size or number of them. Darren may correct me but I believe his twin setup was born out of packaging issues in the UR rather than anything else. Bottom line you want to minimise the pressure drop across the cooler. You can't beat quality components
Getting the MAF to hold 2bar on the pressure side is no easy task!
I think Mr Jones runs Porsche orange top injectors (993 turbo?) perhaps.Leave a comment:

If the MAF is in between the 2 intercoolers then they are in series, not in parallel
For what you're doing I would stick with the MAF in the stock position, they need to be specially mapped on the pressure side and in any case tend to fail more often.Leave a comment:
