Through the switch on the side of the block? Or the oil temperature sensor in the pump itself?

Although I absolutely applaude the commitment shown here, particularly the Vaseline in the oil pump bit (I remember doing an oil change on a late 70's Colt, later to be Mitsubishi??, which just would not prime itself), I just can't imagine Audi doing this when the engines were originally built........

Through the large pressure sensor on the side of the block.

The top or bottom one? I have both the switch and the pressure sender.

Or take off the oil filter housing and inject some down the oil gallery that runs forward to the pump

Also had this idea. I'll probably try this first.

I think this thread is bonkers...

Take the camshaft sensor plug off, spin it with the starter for a bit.
After that plug it in and start it.

And if you wan't to avoid any load on the bearings, take the spark plugs out. Also cranks a little faster so the oil pump sucks harder.
