  • crank bearing

As per title. I am about to buy crank main bearings for my 3B.
getting a bit confused what to buy, as the market provides a big choice.
    Any feedback, recommendations and experience?
    Regards LukasR

Or Glyco if you can get them at a decent price.

I would replace the mains thrust washers too if you're already planning on replacing the main bearings.

I think I'd go for KS for main and rod.
                And glyco thrust washers.
                Thanks for the info

Make sure you get sputter type rod bearings. They are probably all this manufacture now, but best to check.

I think i took Mahle bearing shells out of my engine, another alternative German Oe spec supplier.
I ended up putting kolbenschmidt back in as that was what the machine shop supplied but word of,warning - make sure the big end shells have the hole drilled in them. The first set that turned up were meant to be right but covered up the con rod rifle drilling....

I did consider mahle, glyco, KS and rs2 coated from 034 motorsport (quite expensive)
                      Anybody used coated bearings?

The coating is only useful for about 4 seconds if your oil supply fails

                          That's fine.
I think Ill stay with my choice and go for sputters KS.
I have noticed The 7a crank has 2 oil holes in journals and 3b has only one.
I am not an expert but it makes me think that if the engine gets under hard track use would 2 oil holes in crank journals make bigger opportunity to lose oil pressure in the engine?
Please correct me if I am wrong
