    Pauls 3B home fries

Paul, Any sight of those map sensors for the 3b upgrade? Don't mean to be a pain and keep asking but my car'll spend most of its time in the garage for the next two months and i'd like to get it done before i start spending the money on christmas stuff, you know how it is.

Also,i was just wondering what sort of power gains i would get.

    Cheers, Chris

    HI there,

cruisin thro the previous post & notced this 3B chips question - what is the latest situation with 3B chips ?

I have been watching with interest the ABY chips discussion , but have not seen anything else about 3B chips. IM not a speed freak & have no interest in going to one of the retail chippers, as ive heard bad things about them , but would be interested in finding out more about chips if they do what the ABY ones seem to......

    any info appreciated

    thanks!

I'm running a 3b chip from the senior Fryer, Mr Nugent! I think my car was the first dyno'd 3b with them - not sure.

Performance is supposed to be pretty similar to the ABY chips, so about 280ish bhp and 400+nm/303lbs/ft torque.......she shifts!!!

Paul/Mihnea can give you the official line but they exist and are awesome

I can confirm that, Paul's 3B "home fries" exist and Newsh could testify as well

Yo - just for the record...

'Paul's 3B Home Fries' were actually developed solely by Mihnea. I don't pretend to claim any great insight on the weirdness of 3B Motronic ECUs. I have much more knowledge on the AAN, ABY & ADU stuff - with Mihnea's help of course.

The generic ABY chips were developed by me (with Mihnea's help) and tested on my car so I have intimate knowledge of that stuff - also for factory immobiliser equipped cars (from MY95 onwards). Dyno plots WILL be posted this week... I'm making the time for this !

As for 3B engines, I can easily upgrade 3B ECUs in the UK to Mihnea's generic uprated spec by reprogramming the chips - Mihnea gets a cut of the funds of course. We have not got consistent dyno figures for them but estimates are 260-270bhp and 400-410Nm. All very dependent on air temperature, fuel quality and the engines inherent ability to resist knock.

                  Cheers,

                  Paul
