Hey Nuvo, finally going through some posts on here, kinda funny to see a link to a picture of my car on here!!

Anyway......

The grille on my car (late-S2 nose on a USA CQ that's getting a 2.3L 20vt) is actually off a 1998 Cabrio (Pelican Blue, my sister's car) that caught some debris from a truck. So, it did actually start out chrome/chrome. However, I was bored one night at school, stripped off the metal plating off the "frame" and painted it black with just a slight hint of texture. Looks MUCH better, IMO, on the car as the ONLY chrome trim on it otherwise was the front and rear 4-ring emblem. The chrome frame always looked out of place to me. I may end up ordering the black/chrome piece from Martyn some day if I am really picky about having a few broken louvers/slats on the grille. I also have a light-weight race day special, 6.3mm square opening mesh (chicken wire!) on the glass fibre hood. It looks quite, well, ugly, but at a few ounces it's lighter than the factory grille.

I have indeed!! :-)

Its the HID kit I am working on for the fogs, its got to first installation stage on my car and I'm currently assessing them in real world useage. I've got a couple of things I want to change so far, but initial impression is they are pretty cool ;-)
