Hi, does anyone know if the rear boot/hatch pushbutton lock is the same as the saloon models? They certainly look the same from the outside! Mine ('93 ABY) has had a peice broken off the actual mechanism & I know where there is an ordinary 80 saloon getting scrapped. Too small to glue & its made of ****** Mazak metal so wont weld!
Thanx,
Simon

Not sure about the saloon lock but you _can_ repair these things with Lumiweld, a kind of hard solder for alloy parts, you have to watch it with Mazac as you can just end up with a puddle instead of a part, but its possible, I've done several Audi door and boot locks with it.
Hmmmmm, thanx for the info mate, I will definately give that a go! I never heard of it B4. Sound kinda useful for fixing all those old door handles that snap off on old cars when they are getting stripped for restoration- I will tell my boss about it!
Cheers!,
Simon
