You probably already know of this website, but in case you haven't : http://www.fibre-lyte.co.uk/cf/s2/s2.html
I really just want to hand them over my car and ask them to call me when they have done the lot. By the look of things, they have replaced the whole rear tailgate, but I'm sure that they might be able to help out with your request.

Yes, but it looks in the photos that it is perspex or similar that they have used to replace the glass. I imagine that there is a lot of weight in the frame of the hatch as well, although I can understand wanting to keep the standard one.

That's Simon Bainbridges old car, it's now owned by Tim Cooper of Renn-tech (ex QRS)

The only thing left steel on the car is the roof, A, B, and C pillars. All the rest is CF. All the windows are perspex.
The weight of the rear hatch is in the glass, the rest is plastic apart from the bonded on steel area where the badges are stuck too.

I "think" I may have some close up pictures of the rear hatch. I'll dig them out as they are on disc somewhere.

That would be great if you could

I have a spare rear tailgate to experiment with and my god its heavy, is the glass easy to remove ? i know its bonded on but is it just a case of cutting through the sealant to remove the glass ?

At Jas11n: Do you know what sort of weight saving there is from the full carbon body, I'd be really interested in getting some panels at some point. On the site it gives a couple of examples of the weight differences between the old and new, but I have yet to see the weight of the whole car stated.

I believe Aelred has the moulds for the car, he even put up some prices of panels a few months ago.
