Incidentally, the 'C' pillar on a sport is different too.

Yeah, been seeing that. Although I see that Kerr can supply a kevlar roof with C pillars, I'm guessing that these are bonded over the originals or their frames... Still reading up at the moment though.

I believe you're right, there's a lot of subtle diffences between cars too. The rally cars had the rear arch louver (vent) cut to the top of the wing, whilst the road car had it cut to the bottom of the wing (like an A1 rally quattro). So the type of car you are building (road or race) might be influenced by the arch type. (or vice-versa)...

Is this the louver on the leading edge of the rear arch that you mean? After a quick trawl through my photo collection I think that i see what you mean, if it is the one that I just mentioned.

              It is...

Original road going sport quattro = louver (recess - or whatever) at the bottom.
Original rally sport quattro = Louver at the top.

Most of the replica/aftermarket/non factory (I pick my words carefully here!) panels have the louver at the top.

Yeah, here's a real SQ on display in Glasgow Audi where you can clearly see the lower louver:

                  and the rally SQ:

                  Or something along those lines

The roof is wider on an SQ as well... the C pillars differ by quite abit, I have original SPQ C pillar inner panels here.
