You can also specify where it gets fixed to her insurance as they will send it to some Vauxhall dealership where some spotty 17 year old apprentice will do all of the stripping (and snapping of clips) and cleaning (with the coarsest wire brush available to take the galvo off, then the professional will straighten it, and the apprentice puts it all back together with all the care and grace of a Gorrilla in a bad mood. BTDT-never again. Specify a place you trust to do the work, as insurance companies will always find the cheapest ways out.

Ditto my experience with Third Party insurers. Make sure you specify the garage YOU want to fix the car and do not back down. For what its worth, I asked for Ridgeway Volkswagen to do my repair (they are based in wantage Oxon) and I am extremely happy with the repair they did to my S2 (Back bumper as it happens) and the paint match and work was excellent!

Joe, you ought to post this on the AW CQ Forum...

show them that even the UK suffer from knuckleheads driving TOO DAMN CLOSE!!! Think the DOT bumper we here in the States have on our Coupes would have taken the hit better? Hell, probably would have been worse.
Isn't there a thin flat piece of metal in the Coupe Euro bumpers?

Could do that, but my local dealership used a crap bodyshop (they damaged my parents old A6 when it went up for some warranty work) They have now built there own bodyshop and thats just as bad (they damaged my parents new passat when it went for some warranty work).

Only use somewhere you know churns out good work. Almost never use any of the insurance rec. bodyshops, they all work to a figure. They have to turn around as many cars as possible a day. Hence jobs get rushed and not done right.

Just for the record. Never seen such damage to Coupe bumpers , they usually chop/brake in peaces , atleast here in Latvia.

And they aren't from ABS plastics 100% around here. But maybe we just have some cheap versions around.

Maybe becouse you have '95 year car ?

Just as a final note on this, I hope, after nearly 7.5 months the third party has finally admitted liability for driving in to the back of me... the nerve.
