  • Jack point damage

Got the S2 MOT sorted yesterday, was having a poke around the underside with my MOT man and I noticed that my front jacking points are i bit mangled from my trolley jack not interfacing with them properly. There is some light surface corrosion and some flacking under-seal in this area, nothing serious but as where all corrosion is concerned the sooner sorted the better.

    So the Plan :mischeif:

Friday I will remove plastic sill covers (any tips for doing this?)
I'm booked into use a ramp for 4 hours on Saturday Morning. This is where the jack points will be repaired and the rust mechanically removed.
I will then apply various products from Bilt & Hamber at home over the rest of the weekend and refit the plastic sills late on Sunday

Finally I am going to make a device that fits on the top of my trolley jack that connects with the sill properly, all ideas welcome

Ill take some shots of my progress.

    Cheers

    Rich

              Everybody should check this.
Looked at mine a couple of years ago. Thought it would be a short job, but you find more rust the more underseal you scrape away.
If left holes in floorpan for sure.
Crappy job scraping underseal off with car on stands.
Do it if you love your Audi.
