Blah, blah, blah. You all know that had Audi been allowed by Porsche to make the RS2 in Coupe form they would have.

Avants get wet inside. Especially when the shopping falls over and the dog gets in the back after a long walk in the country side.

also worth checking the door seals because mositure can get in there, also the covering over the top of your pollen filter, make sure the rubber lip is over the cover and not tucked behind it otherwise water will drop into the pollen filter and ur heater.

porsche refused to make a rs2 version of the far superior coupe coz they saw it as too much of a rival to their own cars :nana: :nana: :nana:
what if you get a puncture when its raining then youll have soggy slippers, so wellies win the day im afraid :nana: :nana: :nana:

Thing is the slipper mobile has space for the wellies when needed.
Of course being slipper mobiles they are far more reliable and don't break down nearly as much.........have you ever gotten a hole in your slipper in the wet. Thought not.

                    RS2 coupe.....nice thought

Stange thing! I went out last night and tried the AC and it DOES work!!
                      It's a miracle!

Pollen Filter (if fitted ) is, I presume, under the plastic trim, opposite side to the fuse box? Removed by undoing those plastic screws??

AC drain tube is in place and looks ok, found a displaced rubber boot though, down there behind where the ECU would go if it wasn't laying on the carpet.. felt the draught when I was poking around down there.
Can you believe some alarm "person" actually hacked the ECU loom?? Pisses me off every time I look at it.. Anyway the boot is on the otherside of the bulkhead so I'll have to jack the car up to get to it.
I'll check the sunroof drains later too.

Sunroof drains are clear, pushed some wire down the holes and it appeared in the door shut near the hinge.

Dont have a pollen filter, just a black plastic grill, a few leaves on it which I cleared. The plastic cover that goes into the rubber seal around the bottom of the screen is a bit distorted and also doesn't fit really tight in the seal. Someone had bodged it with black mastic, which was a mess and meant it was difficult to remove. (unless that's normal?)
I'm going to try and find a way of making it a tighter fit.
Floor is damp under drivers mat, not sure what that is about, steering column gaiter is ok I think. It may be from the old screen which I'm sure was leaking.

Bonnet release cable grommet checked out ok , ta.

Managed to get that rubber loom boot back in place but what a struggle! The thing was under the battery tray so inaccessible from the engine bay and just visible from from inside the car, up behind the AC unit where the ECU would be if it wasn't laying on the nice new floor mat...

Eventually after jacking up the car and failing to even get a finger on it from underneath either, I made up a hook with a doubled over bit of coathanger wire and managed to hook it from inside the car, pull it back indoors and then re-seat it. coathanger wire, where would we be without it? :wacked:

Bit of an old thread I know, but thought might help a few other "misty" folks.

Managed to sort out my misting up problem last weekend. Following some of the suggestions in this thread I discovered that the platic cover over the pollen filter had been "attacked" by some **** in the past and then "sealed" up using silicon gum. I could see the pollen filter through the "sealed" gap :eek2:

Everytime it rained or the car was washed, water would leak (more like gush) onto the filter, into the box underneath and then slowly leak through the REC flap and soak the under carpet of the passenger side. Pulled back the carpet (which was dry BTW) and discovered a small mushroom farm under the under carpet. Dried that out with a lead light overnight and now there is no more fog

Also found my ECU reclining under the carpet instead of in its little hole like newsh did.

You would think that people who work on other folks cars would take some pride in their work. This was the fault of a radio installer. Just too much effort to put things back the way they should be!
