        Ok, little update.

I contacted them earlier last week, The guy i usually speak too was ill and the person standing in for him did not know what stage they were in.

The reason that there is a delay with completion is because of the 2 part illumination that is getting built in to the speedo tacho.

first setting will illuminate the whole dial inc mph and kmph were as the second setting will dimm out the kmph. This is a great little feature and im really glad they are putting it in for us as no extra cost.

I will try to make contact again tomorrow to find out on completion date.

        Sorry for the delay.

        Cheers.

          That may come in handy.

They are a PITA to get open,
The drivers side one needs the switch top prizing of first. Then once it has then been removed from the case the bottom can be dropped out by releasing the 4 tiny clips.

The passenger one is a little different and does not require the switch top removing. this only needs the switch dropping out once its removed from the connector.

if you can get your hands on 3mm leds use them as the space is quite tight in the switch, I used normal ones though and simply ground them down to about half size.
Then fitted them pointing up and not upside down like the other ones.

I have replaced all seat heating, fog lights, light level, rear demist, abs, diff, window switches to blue LEDs Its starting to look very nice and once the mirror is done it will be almost finished.

          The look really nice now.

ATM im working on the mirror adjustment switch. This is by far the hardest as space is very restricted. I have spent about 4 hours on it already and am almost done now.

Once i have a guide put together it should take no longer than 10 minutes per dash switch and 20 mins for the window switches.
The others will take a little longer depending how good you are with a drill and a soldering iron.

I hope to have all this done by the time the plasma gauges are here so that i can then concentrate on making the guide and fitting them.

I will take some more pics once i get my camera back.

          Cheers.

S2_bo: I already written a "how to" for the mirror adjustment switch, i can translate it if you want and you add the LED install how to.

                  Great thanks.

Thats pretty much what i did.

I did have to grind the LED's down as they were to big.
The problem with leds is that they cast much to directional light. So the switch does glow, but the buttons don't illuminate.

I think i will get some 3mm blue bulbs, like the ones you used and will give it another try with them.

P.s. translation would be good, but i think the pictures speak for themselves.

P.p.s. would you mind if i used some of your pictures when i draw up my guides?
                  Thanks.

                        Great News!!!

                        Good News everyone!
I just had an email yesterday form our new German best friends....
(It was spammed due to the image but luckily i called them anyway and they confirmed that one was already sent. )

Anyway to cut all the small talk the reason that we have had such a delay is because they had had to manufacturer a special inverter that controls the switching between illumination of:

                        MPH only
                        KMPH only
                        MPH + KMPH

They have now confirmed that this is finished and the "prototype" is being built this week.

For those of you that want to have a crack at the email here it is...

                        Hallo,

I'm not gonna translate it word for word as I'm at work and have other things to do.

                        Here is the image.
                        new Audi 80 s2 meilen.jpg

Consignment completion time is end of July at the latest - that's for all 50 sets.
The are going to test the prototype and if its all working 100% ill get them to post it to me so that i can start to build this monster conversion guide!..

Enjoy and thanks for your waiting...

P.s. I'm estimating that i will need to wire them the money middle of July so i will need as many payments as possible by then. (Will PM about that later to the time.)
